In a silent farewell he said goodbye  To his mutt of a dog his child and his wife  With one last prayer and futile sigh  Prepared himself for the fight of his life

9/11 generation

We saw the towers fall. We saw the burning field. We saw the damage to the Pentagon. But what we witnessed was America rising to the challenge. Our proud nation fought back on flight 93. It shuddered as the towers crumbled, but as they shattered, our sense of patriotism soared. It was bloodied as the Pentagon was stabbed, but our wounds were stanched with the gause of thousands of Americans rising up to protect their home.

We cried for those lost, and grieved for those they left behind. Our hearts, our tears, and our prayers went out to them, and we have NOT forgotten.
We haven't forgotten their courage in the true test of character. We haven't forgotten the guts it took to stand up for their country, their family.

The soldiers across the sea fight for those lost and those of us left behind. And if they waver for an instance, all they have to do is remember the devistation of 9/11. All of our hopes are with them. May they never falter, never lose sight of the freedom they fight for, and never forget.

We are the 9/11 generation. We are forever changed by those events. And WE will change the future.
